Enhancing the guest experience through technology, the case of Hotel La Couronne


Located in Argentière, a landmark town in the Chamonix region of France, Hotel La Couronne is a mountain lodge steeped in tradition, dating back to 1863–1865. With 69 fully renovated rooms equipped with modern amenities, the hotel faces the challenge of delivering a tech-savvy experience that aligns with today’s guest expectations. Given its location in a high-demand tourist area, frequented in both winter and summer by skiers and hikers, in-room connectivity and entertainment have become crucial factors for customer satisfaction.

Hotel management identified the need to integrate a streaming solution that was efficient, secure, and easy to use, enabling guests to enjoy their digital content hassle-free. To achieve this, an ambitious project was launched in collaboration with ACAD ÉQUIPEMENT, a systems integrator with over 20 years of experience in audiovisual solutions.

ArantiaCast, the standard for in-room entertainment

To address this challenge, the hotel chose ArantiaCast by Televes—a leading provider of telecommunication infrastructures for buildings and homes. This professional-grade streaming solution was specifically designed for establishments like Hotel La Couronne.  

The installation included:

  • ArantiaCast server for centralized system management
  • Network Manager-Router ensuring secure and stable connections
  • 69 Google TV kits, allowing each guest to enjoy personal content smoothly and without interruptions
  • T.0X FRANSAT PRO headend: a compact, fast, and eco-friendly RF SAT solution, featuring FPGA technology and robotic production for high reliability. Designed for maximum energy efficiency, flexible installation, and both local and remote control via the installed CDC module.

Thanks to this solution, guests can now cast content directly from their mobile devices to their room's TV without passwords or complex setup. The system also ensures that each room has a fully isolated connection, safeguarding privacy and security.
